Most people don’t know this about me.
I wrote my first book at 21. Finished the whole thing, and even hired two professional editors. It’s called Rescuing Me: A Teen’s Journey from Lost to Found and it has been sitting on my hard drive for decades. Less than a dozen people have ever seen it.
“It’s just not the right time. It doesn’t make sense for my brand anyway. Maybe someday.” I said.
Someday still hasn’t come.
Â
The Cost of Waiting Another Year to Launch Your Book:
In my late 20s I got a clear vision around authentic leadership and what it could mean to help heart-centered, impact-driven messengers develop into leaders that could genuinely move humanity forward. I built the infrastructure, I had the customer journey, I even launched a membership very successfully. I started the manuscript, and then?
Life hit.
I back-burnered the book… And then I watched as the universe plucked that idea right out of my hands and gave it to someone else who actually did something with it. All of a sudden I’m hearing people everywhere talking about authentic leadership, launching books, building programs around it.
That was my idea. And I did nothing meaningful with it.
Over my 30s I hired two ghostwriters. Found a writing partner. Went to an editing retreat. Started four different manuscripts. Not one of them saw the light of day…
Â
Then January 2023 arrived.
The message dropped in clearly. Write the book. Release it at your April 3rd event.
That gave me seven weeks.
I had covid for three of them. I was solo parenting for two. It was the busiest month of the entire NGNG calendar year. And the message I thought I was going to deliver in the book isn’t even what wanted to emerge. A whole new methodology was developing in real time. The Foundational Four Framework. Getting people into Alignment. I didn’t even fully know what that meant yet and I was trying to write about it.
I was standing at the crossroads. Every reason in the world to say this just isn’t the time.
I said yes anyway.
Â
Here’s what happened on the other side of that yes.
People started inviting me to speak all over the country. LA, 300 entrepreneurs. Nashville, 2,000 entrepreneurs on stage. Beverly Hills, 300 authors. Austin, a private workshop for investors. Dozens of virtual workshops on top of podcast interviews and everything else.
That wasn’t the plan… I just kept showing up and saying yes, and refused to let those old beliefs win. The ones deep down that whispered it’s safer to be invisible.
Not this time.
And the running joke? I had made over 1,000 authors bestsellers and didn’t even have a book myself. The launch was honestly a little lame by my own standards, because it happened so fast I couldn’t even use my own Blueprint for it. However, fifty people came to the event. Those fifty people bought bulk copies and told everyone they knew.
The rest unfolded from there.
Â
Why am I telling you all of this?
The ideas moving through you right now are going to move through your timeline whether you act on them or not.Â
The only question is whether you’re the one who does something with them, or whether you hand them off to someone else by default.
I kept saying someday. And someday cost me years of Impact, income, fulfillment, and experiences I can never go back and have.
Â
What’s here for you if you finally stop waiting?
That’s the question I sat with making this video. And it’s the question I want to leave with you.
If something in this post stirred something in you, the Bestseller Book Launch Blueprint enrollment is open now. Go check out the program page and watch the video there. If it feels like a fit, reply and let’s talk.
Don’t let it be another “someday.”
No guts, no glory.
